LAUNCH OF LEANERSHIP PROGRAMME AND HANDING OF FENCING FOR YOUTH LED PROJECTS IN XHUKWANE VILLAGE

Eastern Cape Rural Development and Agrarian Reform (DRDAR) MEC Xolile Nqatha handed over fencing to youth led projects and also launched a Learnership programme where the department will offer agricultural training to 60 young people at Xhukwane Village. The Department invested R1.6-million to the eight-month programme which will see youth being trained in agricultural activities such as crop and animal production. 

Communal farmers have also received fencing material, wool sorting equipment and a maize threshing machine to the tune of more than R2.3-milion.
